Cleaning the Pump Block Gasket.
The pump block gasket
protects and covers the entire pump block and is an integral
component of the pneumatic pumping system. The pump block
gasket is located in the cassette compartment and is seen when
the cassette door is opened. The pump block gasket needs to be
cleaned at least once monthly. To clean the gasket:
1. Thoroughly dampen a lint-free cloth with disinfectant soap.
Gently wipe the gasket with the dampened cloth, ensuring all
areas have been cleaned.
2. Gently but thoroughly wipe the gasket with a lint-free cloth
dampened with distilled or tap water to remove the soap.
3. Dry the gasket with a lint-free cloth.

CAUTION:
Do not use solvents, abrasive cleaners, or a greater
than 10 percent bleach solution to clean any part of the
instrument. Use only recommended cleaning solutions.
CAUTION:
Refer to the cleaning instructions for each
component or area to determine which solutions and cleaning
cloths are recommended.
Note:
Do not manually pull on the pump block gasket. The
gasket may disengage from the pump block and come out of its
seated position.
Note:
Contact a qualified service representative if fluid gets
through the pump block gasket. Do not attempt to clean a spill
in that location.
