(minutes and seconds).

4. Break the available cannulae on all solution containers

(saline, red cell preservation solution, and anticoagulant – in

any order). The cannulae are located at the inlet of each

solution container. To completely break a cannula, grasp it

in both hands, snap it at a 90-degree angle in one direction,

and then bend it in the opposite direction. To ensure proper

fluid flow, the cannula should be snapped as close to the

middle of the breakaway portion as possible.
