This section provides instructions for initial instrument or
operational checks to be performed on an A
LYX
instrument
before use in the collection area. If applicable, the operator
may choose any enabled procedure. These checks may also be
required after the instrument has been serviced. Your service
representative will notify you when this is necessary.
Operational checks will have to be repeated after new
procedures are enabled on the instrument.
Note:
The alarms generated during operational checks will
verify alarm system integrity. While not required, additional
alarms may be verified during the operational check procedure.
Note:
The screens depicted in this section are for general
reference. Procedure screens and summary information may
vary based on procedure selected and data entered.
Note:
The touch screen may not respond appropriately if it is
touched in more than one spot at the same time. Always
ensure the correct information has been entered before
proceeding to the next step.
To ensure the A
LYX
instrument is prepared to begin a
procedure, follow the instructions provided earlier in this
chapter under “Preparing the Instrument for Use” and
“Starting the Instrument.”
Follow the instructions for “Performing Daily Setup” (provided
earlier in this chapter) to complete scale checks in order to
proceed with operational checks. Scale checks can be
performed before or concurrently with self-checks. Touch the
check button
to display the Main Data Entry Screen after scale
checks and self-checks have been completed.
