Performing Routine Maintenance

Removing the Ion Source Cartridge for Cleaning

TSQ 9000 Hardware Manual

Thermo Scientific

20. Slide the source holder, which is in the TSQ 9000 Toolkit, onto the end of the ion source

cartridge. The opening of the source holder is designed to accommodate the handles of
the ion volume.

21. Twist the holder to disengage the ion source cartridge from the tool.

22. Set the ion source cartridge and holder on a clean surface.

The repeller locking nut is now loose on the repeller spring. Be careful not to

tip the source or the components will fall out.
