Turn the general purpose knob in either direction to select the
item box.
When you turn the knob, the popĆup menu disappears but the knob
entry mode of the selector remains in effect. (Touching the [ENTER] or
[ESCAPE] soft button on the popĆup menu does the same thing.)
The knob entry mode stays in effect until the next action (touching the
CRT) is taken.
Entry of Text
ăStep 1:ă
Touch the selector to bring up the character keypad popĆup
menu (see the left side of Figure 2Ć4).
ăStep 2:ă
Enter and display the text in the display field by touching the
corresponding soft key on the popĆup menu.
ăStep 3:ă
Touch the [ENTER] soft button to set the value in the display
field. To reset this value, touch the [ESCAPE] soft button:the set value
of the selector remains unchanged. Touching either soft button causes
this popĆup menu to disappear.
Entry of Numerals
Numerals can be entered via the numeric keypad popĆup menu or with the
general purpose knob.
Entry with Numeric Keypad PopĆup Menu
ăStep 1:ă
Touch the selector to bring up the numeric keypad popĆup
menu (see the right side of Figure 2Ć4).
ăStep 2:ă
Enter the numerics and prefix symbols in the display field by
touching the appropriate soft keys.
Units are automatically determined by the selector and need not be
entered.
ăStep 3:ă
Touch the [ENTER] soft button to set the value in the display
field. To reset this value, touch the [ESCAPE] soft button:the set value
of the selector remains unchanged. Touching either soft button causes
this popĆup menu to disappear.
Entry with General Purpose Knob
ăStep 1:ă
Touch the selector to set the selector to knob entry mode.
The numeric keypad popĆup menu appears, the selector is highlighted
and the knob icon appears indicating that the selector is in knob entry
mode (see Figure 2Ć5).
