The self diagnostics are automatically executed at power up with the excepĆ
tion of some routines, and tests the functionality of all components. If all
tests pass, the CONFIG menu appears on the CRT.
If the test fails at power up, the Diagnostic menu appears so you can check
and find out which component does not work properly.
Routines which make following CRT patterns for video printer calibration are
included, but they are not described here. Refer to the manual supplied with
your video printer on how to calibrate and use these CRT patterns.

In addition, some menus for checking the function of buttons and the knob
on the front panel, and interfaces on the rear panel can be displayed. These
operation procedures are found in this appendix.
Adjusting the Reference Voltage
A voltage reference source is calibrated with the [REFERENCE ADJUST]
soft button in the UTILITY menu so that the user accurately reads the referĆ
ence voltage output from the reference IC installed in the instrument first and
then informs the instrument of the measured value.
When you touch the [REFERENCE ADJUST] soft button, the Reference
Adjust popĆup menu appears. This popĆup menu, unlike other popĆup
menus, provides two features:reference voltage readout and voltage adjustĆ
ment. Reference voltage adjustment is performed by using these features in
sequence.
