372ĆBased Programming
The 372 is provided with a programming feature that allows various proĆ
cesses such as setup, measurement, analysis, data saving and data output
involved in characteristic measurement to be done in a single process. The
372 is also provided with an remote control programming feature that allows
the instrument to be remotely controlled via a GPIB interface, but this feature
is different from the programming feature described here, and will be disĆ
cussed in the Programmer manual.
The basic features and a complete description of the instructions that are
supported by the 372 are found in Tables 3Ć49 and in Table 3Ć50.
Instructions
The instrument sequentially executes a program by reading instructions
from memory. The program can control functions in the areas listed below,
using 23 instructions.

Save and load to/from floppy disk file

Creating service request in remote control mode.
Program Editing
A program of up to 100 lines can be created in program memory using the
dedicated editor available in the PROG menu. The editor can also be used
to list, correct and append to existing programs in memory. Programs can
also be saved on a floppy disk the same way as curves and settings are.
Trace Feature
The Trace feature acts as a simple program debugging aid by tracing proĆ
gram execution. Trace mode is provided with singleĆstep and continuous
execution modes.
