Floppy Disk System
Reference
3Ć132
The DISK menu has two basic sections:Information and Operation as
shown in Figure 3Ć59.
H
Information Section - Provides the user with information such as USED
SIZE and FREE SIZE.
H
Operation Section - Allows you to reference file lists and operate files
and directories.
The 372 uses disks in MSĆDOS format. This allows you to exchange files
with other computers supporting MSĆDOS. If you are not familiar with MSĆ
DOS, refer to the Introduction of this chapter.
Saving and loading settings, curves and programs is done with the [SAVE]
and [LOAD] buttons on the front panel. Refer to Saving and Loading SetĆ
tings, Curves and Program in this section.
CRT display information can be also be saved on the disk in the specified
format. Refer to Hardcopy in this section.
Display of File Use
The Information section lists:
H
USED SIZE - The total size of all files created on a floppy disk.
H
FREE SIZE - The total size of unused blocks on a floppy disk.
H
NUM OF ITEMS - Total number of directories and files in the current
working directory.
Referencing a File List
You can reference any files and directories on a floppy disk with the FILE/
DIR List menu in the Operation section.
The FILE/DIR List (or FILE/DIR selection box) displays the higherĆlevel direcĆ
tories, current working directory, and all files and directories contained in the
current working directory.
The FILE/DIR List can list up to eight boxes at a time. If more than eight files
or directories exist, the rest of files or directories can be displayed by turning
the general purpose knob on the front panel to scroll backward and forward
through the file list, or by touching the [PAGE FORWARD] and [PAGE BACKĆ
WARD] soft buttons.
The box is highlighted when touched. No direct action can be taken via this
box, but it allows certain soft buttons to use it as a parameter in their execuĆ
tion. Refer to the explanations for the individual soft button for details.
The FILE/DIR information is divided into two parts:information from the root
to the current working directories (absolute path), and information on files
and directories in the current working directory. They are identified in Figure
3Ć61.
