This example explains how to set up the 372 to measure a characteristic

curve without the catalog setup feature, using a NĆchannel FET (as in ExamĆ

ple 1), and how to recall the settings from a floppy disk file.

Manual Setup

Manual setups are used for measurements for which setups cannot be

made with the catalog setup feature. This section explains this procedure

using the same device as in the previous example, for comparison.

Display the CONFIG menu after resetting to the default state.

ăStep 1:ă

Initialize the instrument and display the CONFIG menu.

Display the UTILITY menu by touching the [UTILITY] box in the main

menu selection box (see Figure 1Ć22).

Touch the [INITIALIZE] soft button located at the lowerĆright of the

CRT. The INITIALIZE menu appears to the left of the [INITIALIZE]

soft button.

Touch the [EXECUTE] soft button to reset the instrument to default

stat immediately after power up.

Display the [CONFIG] menu by touching the [CONFIG] box in the

main menu selection (see Figure 1Ć23).
