The procedure how to measure the time domain characteristics of N chanĆ
nel FET drain current is described below. In this case it is assumed that the
gate voltage will vary with respect to time as shown in Figure 1Ć44. A simpliĆ
fied circuit for this measurement is also shown in Figure 1Ć44.

Instructions on how to power up and initialize the 372, and how to mount a
DUT are given in Example 1.
Setting Up
Configuration
The circuit shown in Figure 1Ć44 is almost the same as the circuit for the ID
vs. VDS measurement. The catalog setup feature is used to set up the 372
for sweep measurement, but the connection of the configuration can be
performed the same way for time domain measurement. This setup is deĆ
scribed below. When manual setup is required, refer to Connection and
Source Mode in Example 2.
Connection and Source Mode

Set the connection and Source mode of the HPU and LPU
using the catalog setup function.

Touch the [CATALOG] soft button to display the catalog setup menu.
H
Touch the [FET__N] box in the Device Type selection box to switch
the Test Item selection box on the right side of the CRT to FET.
H
Touch the [ID vs. VDS] box in the Test Item selection box.
H
Touch the [EXECUTE] soft button to set the connection and source
mode of the HPU and LPU and return to the CONFIG menu.
