Preventing digit strip is useful in the case that telephony interface needs full
dialed string. In terms of dialed digit, number should be changed in
compliance with the particular convention in certain circumstances.
Before ‘
prefix
’ command is transmitted to other telephony device, add the
specific digits before the existing digit.
For example, Let’s assume that E.164 called number is 82(02)3438-4968.
In the office, call is made possible by pressing number 14968, which is the
extension number of the telephone. If users set destination-pattern with
‘82023438’ in outbound POTS dial peer which is associated with the
telephone, termination GW strips ‘82023438’after receiving call with
82(02)3438-4968. For terminating GW to make possible call with the
pertinent destination, put ‘1’ in front of the remaining digit. To do this,
configuration should be done like the following.
dial-peer voice pots 20
destination-pattern 82023438….
prefix 1
port 0/1/1:2
Forward Digits
‘
‘forward-digits
’ command regulates the number of digit stripped before
dialed string transmitted to the other telephony device. Generally, outbound
POTS dial peers strips the entire digit matchable specifically with destination-
pattern and transmits only the matchable digit in wildcard pattern. ‘
Forward-
digits
’ command transmits the entire digit or the fixed number of digit among
dialed digit regardless of the number of digit matchable clearly with
destination pattern.
‘F
orward-digits
’
command is supported in only POTS dial peer.
For example; ‘
forward-digits 3
’ command intends to transmit the last three
digits of dialed string. ‘F
orward-digits all
’ command intends to transmit the
entire dialed string. ‘
Forward-digits all
’ command intends to transmit the
entire part when the length of dialed digit is larger than that of destination-
pattern. In the case that destination-pattern of dial-peer is variable-length such
as ‘3438...T’ and ‘3438T’, it is impossible to transmit.
