slot # e1
Input the slot# which is qualified to be E1 trunk card.
And if the previous carrier-type of the slot is
configured E1, rebooting is not required. Otherwise
the system will prompt you to reboot the system for
the change to take effect.

type 0/1 e1
E1 carrier set for slot 0/1
You need to REBOOT for the change
to take effect.

5 configure terminal -
6 module e1 trunk# Specify the E1 trunk that you want to configure
physical layer settings.
trunk# is a simple notation of slot/sub-slot/port, for
convenience.
7 clock_source
{ internal | line } Configures the clock source.
line -Specifies that the clock-facility on this port
derives clocking from the external source to which
the port is connected(generally the CO).
internal -(Optional) Specifies that the clock is
generated from the voice card’s internal clock-facility.
8 framing { crc |
non_crc | disable }
Selects frame type for T1 or E1 line.
crc -Provides 4 bits of error protection.
non_crc -Disables crc4.
disable -Disables E1 framer.
9 linecode Specifies the line encoding to use.
The keywords are as follows:
ami- Specifies the alternate mark inversion(AMI) line
code type.(T1 and E1)
hdb3- Specifies the high-density bipolar 3(HDB3)
line code type.(E1 only)
