Therefore it is sufficient for the token filler to execute every 1 second and fill
CBS number of tokens into the Tc bucket and PBS number of tokens into the
Tp bucket. However, in our implementation the token filler will run every 100
ms. Note that the same token-filling process will replenish tokens in all
srTCM and trTCM token buckets.
Configuring trTCM
To enable policing using trTCM, CIR, CBS, PIR and PBS need to be
configured. CIR and PIR configuration will be mandatory and CBS and PBS
parameters will be optional. CBS will have a default value equal to ‘CIR’
Kbits, which means that the default committed burst time will be 1 sec. PBS
will have a default value equal to ‘PIR’ Kbits, which means that the default
peak burst time will be 1 sec. An action corresponding to each color assigned
to the packet can also be configured. The types of actions that will be
supported are ‘permit’, ‘mark-dscp’ and ‘drop’. A DSCP value must be
provided if the action type selected is ‘mark-dscp’. The configuration of
actions will not be mandatory. They will have the following default values:
green packets - ‘permit’, yellow packets - ‘mark-dscp 0’ and red packets -
’drop’. trTCM can be configured and enabled for each ‘leaf’ traffic class on an
interface.
Statistics
The following traffic statistics will collected when srTCM or trTCM policing
is enabled. Note that since policing can be enabled on a per-class basis, these
statistics are maintained for each leaf class.
