Press [System], [Page Down] , [Freq Ref Int Ext] , and select the external reference.
In this way, the reference time base of the microwave analyzer is changed to the reference time base of
the signal generator, and the phase-locked loop inside the microwave analyzer is locked on the
reference time base of the signal generator, which can improve the accuracy of the frequency counting.

Turn on the frequency counting function:
Press [Peak] to place the marker on the peak of the large signal;
Press

, [Counter Off on] to turn on the frequency counter function.
At this time, the marker reading is the exact frequency of the input signal measured by the frequency
counting function, as shown in Figure 5-15.
Figure 5-15 Improve Frequency Measurement Accuracy by Using the Counter Function
It should be noted that the counter function can only measure continuous wave signals or discrete
spectral components, the signal amplitude is greater than -50dBm, and the signal amplitude should be
greater than the noise level by 30dB.

, [Counter Off On] to turn off the counter function.
NOTE:
When performing the frequency counting function, and user finds that
the sweep speed of the microwave analyzer is reduced, it is because the
microwave analyzer is taking a long time in the background for accurate
signal positioning and frequency calculation, which is normal!
NOTE:
In order to accurately measure the signal frequency when performing the
frequency counting function, the signal generator and Analyzer to be
tested should be shared with the time base!
