a) Test block diagram and test equipment and instrument
It is the same as that of explicit average noise level test
b) Testing steps
1) Connect test instruments according to Figure 5-36. Connect a 50
matcher on the spectrum
analyzer signal input port and set up the spectrum analyzer as follows:
Center frequency ................................................................................................................ 65MHz
Frequency Stepping ........................................................................................................ 110MHz
Span.................................................................................................................................. 110MHz
Reference level................................................................................................................. -50 dBm
Preamplifier................................................................................................................................On
Resolution bandwidth ...........................................................................................................30kHz
Video bandwidth ...................................................................................................................10kHz
2) Observe whether there is residual response signal on the noise analyzer baseline of the
spectrum analyzer. If yes, use the marker to read the residual response amplitude and record
the measurement result. The test should be such that the amplitude of the residual response
signal is greater than the display average noise level by more than 10 dB. If the residual
response signal amplitude is small, the resolution bandwidth should be further reduced to
minimize the display average noise level;
3) Press
【
Frep
】
> [Center Freq] > [↑] to change the center frequency. Repeat step 2 to check
the residual response of the highest frequency from frequency to the instrument, record the
measured maximum value in the corresponding test item of the
S5105 Series Microwave
Analyzer Record Form
.
10 Overall Absolute Amplitude Precision
Description: The overall absolute amplitude precision means the difference between the power reading
of the composite signal generator tested on the power meter and the reading of the signal generator
tested on the microwave analyzer
