Chapter IX USB Power Meter Mode (Optional)
The S5105D/E/F USB Power Meter Mode (USB-PM) uses USB interface to connect the USB
power sensor via USB cable for power test. With the 8723X series USB power sensor provided by
China Electronics Instrument and Meter Co., Ltd., it can test up to 40 GHz RF/microwave signal and
perform true average power measurements over a high dynamic range of -60 dBm to +20 dBm. The
measurement reading is displayed on the display interface of the S5105D/E/F USB Power Meter mode,
and the test block diagram is shown in Figure 9-1, and the attenuator is added as needed.

Section 1 Basic Operations
This Section will briefly introduce the USB Power Meter Mode, Functions and Measurement Methods of
the S5105D/E/F microwave analyzer, so that first-time users can have a general understanding of the
test operation process and make basic measurements after reading this section.
NOTE:
First, observe the maximum input power range of the USB power
sensor identification to ensure that the input is within the specified
range to avoid damage to the probe caused by excessive power!
The USB power sensor of S5105D/E/F recommends that you purchase a series of high-
performance microwave power sensor based on USB interface developed by CLP Instrument and
Meter Co., Ltd., which provides following types and can be purchased based on your testing
requirements:
