accurate measurements of the DUT. Calibration kit with the same connector with that of the DUT shall be
prepared. The location for connecting with the calibration kit and DUT is called the standard port
hereinafter.
The calibration process of S5105D/E/F microwave analyzer in cable and cable and antenna analyzer
mode is as follows:
a) Press the [Cal] key and the [Cal Kit] key, select the calibration part model, and Press [OK] ;
b) Press [M Cal], a message will pop up on the display: “Please connect the opener to port 1, and
press the corresponding menu button to start measuring!” Connect the opener to test port 1,
Press [opener], the microwave analyzer will display “cal std measuring...”during the
measurement standard piece. After the measurement and calculation of the error factor, the
prompt message will pop up on the display: "please connect the short circuit on port 1, then
press the corresponding menu button to start measuring!";
c) Remove the open device from test port 1, connect the short device, press [Short-circuit Device] ,
and the message pops up on the display: "Please connect the load on port 1, then press the
corresponding menu button to start measurement!" ;
d) Remove the short device from test port 1, connect the load, press [LOAD] , and the message
will pop up on the display: "Press [Done] to complete the measurement!" ;
e) Press [Done] to complete the calibration process of the cable and cable and antenna analyzer
mode;
After the calibration is complete, the calibration off On is displayed in the menu bar under calibration.
Connect with the DUT for measurement.

Marker operation
The S5105D/E/F microwave analyzer is provided with up to eight markers for reading
measurement results. Select the currently displayed marker by pressing

→ [Sel Mkr] → [Mkr 1],
[Mkr 2] ... [Mkr 6] or [More Mkrs] → [Mkr 7], [Mkr 8]. Each marker has two operating modes, namely,
normal and delta.
If the marker is in the normal mode, Press

→ [Max], [Min] to let the microwave analyzer
automatically search for the maximum and minimum values of the measurement trace. If user wants to
select the peak function of the marker, please Press [Peak] → [Peak], [Sub Peak], [Right Peak], [Left
Peak]. User can also move the marker by pressing the [↑] / [↓] key, use rotary knob to move the marker,
or directly input the frequency value.
Set the marker to the difference mode, press

→ [Delta Mkr], directly input the frequency
difference, or use the [↑] / [↓] key or use the rotary pulse generator to move the marker to check the
frequency difference and amplitude difference. .

Saving and recalling measurements
The microwave analyzer saves setup status and measurement data to internal memory and an external
USB stick, as well as recalls instrument setup status and measurement data from internal memory and
an external USB drive.
a) Press [File] → [Storage State] to save the current instrument status in memory;
b) Press [File] → [Recall State >] → [State File] to pop up a list of settings, display all the settings
files stored in the memory, select the corresponding file to quickly set the instrument, select the
last time before booting. If user wants to select the last booting status or system default status,
please Press [File] → [Recall State >] → [Last State] or [Default State];
c) Press [File] → [Save Trace >] , press the menu item to select the corresponding trace storage
format (trace, s1p data, s2p data, csv data), enter the file name in the pop-up dialog box, Press
[OK] to save the current sweep track data into the memory;
d) Press [File] → [Recall Trace >] to pop up a data list, display all the data files (trace format)
stored in the memory, and the data in the data file are called into the memory for display and
comparison by selecting the corresponding data file.
e) Press [File] → [Print Screen] to save the display area on the screen as jpg file format, edit and
input file name to be stored and press OK to complete the storage.
f)
Press [File] → [File Mgmnt] to perform file copy or file deletion.
