Min setting
:
a)
Press [Amplitude] → [Min Scale] ,
b)
Enter the minimum value with the numeric keys.
c)
Stop the input by pressing the corresponding amplitude unit on the touch screen.
Auto Scale
If user wants to observe the measurement result more intuitively through the panel, use the automatic
proportional function that comes with the mode to automatically adjust the measurement power display
range based on the size of measured power, please perform the following operations:
a)
Press
【
Amplitude
】
→ [Auto Scale]

Set Relative Measurement Function
The relative measurement function reflects the change in power that has been set to the reference signal.
The reading of the change in power value is expressed in dB and %. If the relative measurement switch
is turned on, the microwave analyzer will measure and save the current power level. At the same time,
the power measurement will show a power level relative to the saved value. Perform the following
operations:
a)
Press
【
Amplitude
】
→ [Relative Off On], switch to [Relative Off On] with soft key,
Turn on the relative measurement function and the power reading is expressed in 0dB and 100%. For
example: measure a signal with a power of 5dBm. If the relative measurement function is turned on, then
the signal power is reduced to 2dBm. At this time, the power reading is displayed as -3dB and 50%.

Set Offset Function
If the measured power of the device under test is greater than the maximum power value that can be
measured by the instrument, the attenuator can be connected to reduce the measured power within the
normal measurement range. The power offset function can set an offset value to offset the attenuation
value or cable loss for the added attenuator or connecting cable. It is also possible to set the power
offset for increasing the gain of the amplifier. A positive value compensates for the loss and a negative
value compensates for the gain. Function settings are as follows:
a)
Press
【
Amplitude
】
→ [Offset Off On] to switch to [Offset Off On] and open the power offset
function.

Set Preamplifier
In order to improve the measurement accuracy of small signals, the S5105D/E/F microwave
analyzer provides a preamplifier in the full frequency band, which can provide a fixed gain of
20dB. The preamplifier can be turned on or off as follows:
a)
Press
【
Amplitude
】
→ [Pre Amp Off On] to turn the preamplifier on or off.
Section 4 Bandwidth Settings
This Section describes the detailed settings of the measurement bandwidth in the power monitoring
mode of the S5105D/E/F microwave analyzer.

Set Average Function
The averaging function is generally used to measure low-power signals or signals close to noise power,
which can smooth the traces to reduce the influence of random noise on the measurement, improve the
measurement accuracy, but simultaneously reduce the measurement speed. The average number of
times determines the number of times the average is read. The higher the average number, the more the
noise is reduced. The average number of times is displayed in the upper left corner of the measurement
data display area. Setting range of average time is 1 - 1,000, setting the average number of times does
not affect the calibration accuracy. Steps for average function settings are as follows:
a)
Press
【
BW
】
→ [Average Off On] , switch to [Avg Off], and turn on the averaging function, and the
average number of times is 16 times by default.
