Test cable and adapter
b)
Testing steps
1) Connect the power meter to the power probe, and conduct zero calibration on them.
2) Connect testing equipment, as shown in Figure 5-39. To be specific, connect the output port of
the signal generator to the SUM port of the power divider, and PORT 1 and PORT 2 to the RF
input port of the S5105 microwave analyzer and the power probe respectively.
3) Set the microwave analyzer to the spectrum analyzer mode and set it as follows:
Center frequency ............................................................................................................... 50 MHz
Span...................................................................................................................................... 1MHz
Reference Level................................................................................................................ -10 dBm
Attenuation.............................................................................................................................. 0 dB
4) Set the output amplitude of the 1464 signal generator to -10dBm;
5) Set the microwave analyzer to the peak value, read the level value L indicated by the marker of
the microwave analyzer and the test reading L
power meter
on the power meter, and calculate the
overall level uncertainty
△
L as follows:

Power meter
(7)
Record the calculated
△
L in the
Microwave Analyzer Record Form
as the test results of the
overall level uncertainty.
6) Change the frequency settings of the signal generator, power meter and spectrum analyzer
according to the
Microwave Analyzer Record Form
, and repeat steps 3) to 6) until all
frequency points are tested with different settings of the attenuator.
11 Maximum Safe Input Level
When the S5105D/E/F Microwave

Analyzer is powered on and started normally, set
[Ref Level] +27dBm. If the instrument displays the reference level as +27dBm, and there is no error
prompt and the reference level displayed on the left side of the screen is +27dBm, it indicates that the
spectrum analyzer's maximum safe input level is normal.
This assurance of performance test item is subject to the design of the RF front-end microwave
components in the spectrum analyzer.
12 Video Bandwidth
After the S5105 series microwave analyzer is powered on and started normally, set the
resolution bandwidth to 5MHz, and then the video bandwidth is 5MHz. Press [↓] to change other
resolution bandwidths, and the corresponding video bandwidths will automatically change. Moreover,
the video bandwidth will be automatically coupled with the resolution bandwidth, at least to 1Hz, with
steps 1 to 3.
