Notes on Connecting V
CL
Capacitor
This LSI includes an internal step-down circuit to automatically reduce the internal power supply
voltage to an appropriate level. Between this internal stepped-down power supply (V
CL
pin) and
the V
SS
pin, a capacitor (ranging from 0.1 to 0.47
µ
F) for stabilizing the internal voltage needs to
be connected. Connection of the external capacitor is shown in figure 21.17. The external
capacitor should be located near the pin. Do not apply any power supply voltage to the V
CL
pin.
