Gathering Support Information

Before you contact Molecular Devices for support, you need the following information
available to help the Technical Support personnel troubleshoot the problem:

The steps that led up to the occurrence of the problem
The settings of any dialogs used when the problem occurred
The text of any error messages

You should also collect the following information from your system whenever reporting
software problems:

Plate Acquisition Settings File: By default, the plate acquisition settings file saves to the
database. To save the settings to a file, in the Plate Acquisition Setup dialog, select the
Experiment tab. Click Save Protocol and then select Save to File. The settings file saves to
the C:\MX6\HTSSTATE folder by default.
Journal files: If you ran a journal when the problem occurred, include copies of the journal
files that you used. By default, journal files save in the C:\MX6\app\mmproc\journals folder.
If you run journals through the Review Plate Data tab, the journals save in C:\analysis and
C:\assay.
System Information Report: This report contains information about system settings and the
release levels of the .dll files in the software. For steps to create a System Information
report that you can email to Molecular Devices, see
