Creating New Hardware Profile Setting Groups
To create a new group:
1. Click Enter Multi-User Mode, copy settings from the existing group, and make sure to
select the new hardware configuration. For User and Groups information, see Users and
Groups in the Meta Imaging Series Administrator Software on page 128 .
2. When you finish creating the group, if you use Single-User Mode, click Enter Single-User
Mode to prevent errors or missing settings.
Filter Maintenance
Whenever you replace or add to the optical components in the ImageXpress Confocal HT.ai
system, you must also enter the filter information into the MetaXpress software to reflect the
new hardware configuration.

Replacing Filters
In the ImageXpress Confocal HT.ai system, the emission filters and the dichroic mirror filters
are installed in separate wheels within the confocal module housing. The emission wheel has
eight filter positions; the dichroic wheel has five.

The accessory kit includes a specialized maintenance tool that you can use to replace the
emission filter.
Note: Dichroic mirror filters are not user-replaceable.
CAUTION!
Filters are delicate components. Always use Special care when handling a filter.
Before replacing a filter, review the
Maintenance Precautions on page 189 .
To prevent skin oils from damaging the optical coatings and to reduce the chances
of introducing dust particles to the filter optics, we recommend that you wear
powder-free gloves when replacing a filter.
