Maintaining the Instrument
User maintenance tasks for the ImageXpress Confocal HT.ai system include cleaning the
instrument, changing filters, and changing and cleaning objectives. Perform only the
maintenance tasks described in this guide. Contact Molecular Devices Technical Support to
inspect and perform preventive maintenance service on the instrument each year. See

CAUTION! You must contact Molecular Devices Technical Support to schedule a Field
Service Engineer to install or remove a water immersion objective.
Shutting Down the System
To shut down the system:
1. Exit the MetaXpress software.
2. Power off the acquisition computer.
3. Do the following to power off the external light source:
a. Turn the master key switch to the OFF position. The status indicator briefly turns
yellow, then red.
b. Press the POWER/STATUS button. The status indicator briefly turns yellow, then goes
off.
4. On the front of the ImageXpress Systems Power and Options Controller, move the
Instrument button to the off position.
