Replacing Emission Filters
The emission filters are installed in a wheel within the confocal module housing.
The accessory kit includes a specialized maintenance tool that you can use to replace the
emission filter. You may also need the following basic tools required to replace a filters:
Powder-free gloves
Flashlight
Bulb duster
CAUTION!
Filters are delicate components. Always use Special care when handling a filter.
Before replacing a filter, review the
Maintenance Precautions on page 189 .
To prevent skin oils from damaging the optical coatings and to reduce the chances
of introducing dust particles to the filter optics, we recommend that you wear
powder-free gloves when replacing a filter.
Removing Emission Filters
Note: If the instrument includes ImageXpress Transmitted Light option, the phase
alignment lens must be installed in Position 8 of the emission filter wheel.
To remove an emission filter:
1. Exit the MetaXpress software.
2. Click Start > MetaXpress 6 > Meta Imaging Series Administrator to display the Meta
Imaging Series Administrator dialog.
3. Click Configure Hardware to display the Configure Hardware dialog.
4. In the Hardware Settings list, select a hardware configuration and click Configure Devices
to display the User Settings dialog.
