6. Locate the water reservoir through the top opening.

7. Open the upper hinged side door for more access.
8. Disconnect the CO
2
/air tubing from the green luer lock on the side of the water reservoir.
9. Insert a syringe filled with deionized water through the green luer lock.
10. Dispense up to 250 mL (8.5 oz) of deionized water from the syringe into the water
reservoir until the water reaches the Max Fill Line.
11. Remove the syringe from the green luer lock.
12. Reconnect the CO
2
/air tubing to the green luer lock.
13. Replace the top access panel surrounding the top door and close the upper hinged side
door. See Figure 7-15 .
14. Replace the lock screw in the top access panel. See Figure 7-14 .
15. If your instrument includes the Transmitted Light option, move the Transmitted Light tower
back into position and replace the hinge release knob. See Figure 7-13 .
16. Restart the system. See Starting the System on page 27 .
17. In the MetaXpress software, do one of the following to close the instrument top door:
From the simplified menu, click Screening > Acquisition Setup > Load Plate.
From the standard menu, click Screening > Plate Acquisition Setup > Load Plate.
