This section describes how to power on the instrument and how to start the MetaXpress
software.

Powering On the Instrument
First, power on the instrument.
To power on the instrument:
1. Confirm that the power cords for the instrument and the external light source are
connected to the ImageXpress Systems Power and Options Controller.
2. On the front of the ImageXpress Systems Power and Options Controller, move the
Instrument button to the on position.
Powering On the Acquisition Computer
Next, power on the acquisition computer and log in to Windows.
To power on the acquisition computer and log in to Windows:
1. Power on the acquisition computer and the monitor.
2. After the computer starts, log in to Windows using the User Name and Password
combination that your system administrator provides.
Note: Do not log in to Windows as Guest unless you are instructed to do so by your
system administrator.
