the note below for additional information regarding point size and
the use of points per line, font pitch, and font point size.
PCL Font Point Size:
Use this numeric field to adjust the point
size or height of the letters on the line. The font size is measured
in points. The font point size should be less than the number of
points per line or lines of text may overlap and make the text
difficult to read. See the note below for additional information
regarding point size and the use of points per line, font pitch, and
font point size.
Note: A point is 1/72 inch and therefore an inch is 72 points. To
translate this to lines per inch, use the default value of 12.00 as
follows:
72 ppi/12 points per line = 6 lines per inch (12.00 points per line is
the equivalent of 10-point type, with 2 points of spacing between
lines.)
LT 10.5 inches raw portrait print generates 60 lines. (10.5 x 6 = 63). 3
lines are missing due to spaces in the header and footer.
A4 11 inches raw portrait print generates 64 lines. (11 x 6 = 66). 2
lines are missing due to spaces in the header and footer.
You can use the font pitch to space the letters wider or narrower on
the line. Ordinarily, the pitch and the point size should match, unless
you are deliberately adjusting the two values to create an artistic
effect.
PCL Font Number:
The PCL Font Number defines a particular
typeface based on a fixed set of standard typefaces. The
Typeface
defines the shape of the letters. Enter the number of the font you
want to use in the numeric field. Font numbers range from
0
to
79
as defined in the table
PCL Font Numbers
below.
