provide unparalleled device and job control from the convenience of your
desktop.
Who Should Read This Guide
This guide
is intended primarily for Network Administrators or those
responsible for setting up, maintaining, and managing Imagistics devices
over the network.
A prerequisite for using this guide is a thorough understanding of your
network environment: type, configuration, and terminology.
This guide is not intended for digital copier service technicians, operators,
or end users. For information on using and maintaining the digital copier,
refer to the
Operator’s Guide for Copying Functions
or contact your
Imagistics authorized dealer for support. For information on using printer
drivers and other client software, refer to the
Operator’s Guide.
This guide assumes that you are a proficient user of your network
management tools, such as Microsoft’s Server Manager and Novell’s
NetWare Administrator. Although references are made to third-party
software, detailed instructions for using these products are outside the
scope of this guide.
Features and Functions
Whether you use the controller in a high volume, large office environment,
centralized copy and reprographics center, or print-for-pay facility, the
feature-rich client software affords all users the opportunity to output
their documents with increased productivity.
Expanded Client Platform Support
The controller supports printing from Windows, Unix, Novell, and
Macintosh operating systems.
Wireless Networking Support
The controller supports these methods of wireless networking:
Wireless Local Area Network (LAN) only, using a wireless Network
Interface Card (NIC) installed in the controller and a Wireless Fidelity
(Wi-Fi) compatible access point nearby
Wireless LAN in conjunction with a wired Ethernet LAN
Wired Ethernet LAN with the wireless NIC used to communicate with
clients that are not connected to the network
