Performing basic configuration tasks
parameter is set to 3, the status of the switch will change if 3 ports fail. Only one policy parameter needs
to pass the MARGINAL or DOWN threshold to change the overall status of the switch.

How to set the switch status policy threshold values
1.
Connect to the switch and log in as
admin
.
2.
Enter the
switchStatusPolicySet
command at the command line.
The current switch status policy parameter values are displayed. You are prompted to enter values for
each DOWN and MARGINAL threshold parameter:
NOTE:
By setting the DOWN and MARGINAL value for a parameter to
0,0
that parameter is no longer
used in setting the overall status for the switch.
3.
Verify the threshold settings you have configured for each parameter.
Enter the
switchStatusPolicyShow
command to view your current switch status policy
configuration:
HP StorageWorks SAN Switch 2/8V, SAN Switch 2/16V, SAN Switch 2/32, SAN Switch
4/32, 4/64 SAN Switch, and 400 MP Router
: The following example shows the command as
executed on a SAN Switch 2/32 switch. The output is similar on SAN Switch 2/8V, SAN Switch 2/16V,
SAN Switch 4/32, 4/64 SAN Switch, and 400 MP Router models:

Note that the value, 0, for a parameter, means that it is
NOT used in the calculation.
** In addition, if the range of settable values in the prompt is (0..0),
** the policy parameter is NOT applicable to the switch.
** Simply hit the Return key.
