BU ILD -U P OF MAJOR SUB-ASSEMBLIES
1. Apply clean w iper m otor g r e a se to a ll
m oving or slid in g p a rts.
2. With right piston body assem b ly p laced in
v is e , in sta ll piston a ssem b ly into p iston body.
3. In sta ll thrust block. Make su re pin notch
is p rop erly p osition ed to align with body attaching
sc r e w la te r .
4. A sse m b le b earin gs with shim w a sh ers (if
needed) on gear and s le e v e a ssem b ly . U se sh im
w a sh ers with b earings when endplay exceed s

NOTE: In stall gear and b earings into body.
Make su re alignment- m arks on gear and rack a re
align ed (fig. 29).
5. In stall le ft p iston body a ssem b ly over
p iston a ssem b ly . Attach the bod ies together with
s c r e w s . Tighten sc r e w s firm ly .

valve body to m otor p iston b o d ies, then in sta ll
valve body attaching s c r e w s . Tighten sc r e w s firm ly .
7. Attach mounting bracket to m otor with four
bolts and lock w a sh ers.

. Install m otor tra n sm issio n shaft assem b ly
to m otor, making su re shaft link is position ed to
align with upper w iper arm shaft le v e r . Install
sp a cer and nut.
9. Install shaft le v e r link in tra n sm issio n
shaft and secu r e with retaining clip .
WIPER MOTOR VALVE DISASSEMBLY
AND ASSEMBLY
1.
R em ove sc r e w s , then rem ove parking end
p la te s and gask ets from valve body. R em ove d isc s
from end p la tes.

2. U nscrew valve pin p rojectin g from valve
body sid e .
3. Push out prim ary rod and secondary rod
from valve body.
4. R em ove rubber O -rin g s from rod s.
5. Clean the valve body, end p la te s, mounting
s c r e w s and rods with solven t and w ipe rubber O-
rin gs with clean cloth. Exam ine a ll p a rts for w ear
and d efects. R eplace a ll worn and d efectiv e p a rts.

. Apply w iper m otor g r e a se to valve rods
and rubber O -rin g s.
7. In stall rubber O -rin g s on ro d s, then push
rods into valve body.
NOTE: Make su re tapped hole in p rim ary rod
i s in p osition to align with valve pin.

. Thread valve pin into p rim ary rod.
9. Make su re rubber d is c s a r e in sta lled in
end p la te s. In stall end p la tes to v a lv e body.
WIPER MOTOR PISTON DISASSEMBLY
AND ASSEMBLY
1. R em ove the rubber O -rin g s from O -rin g
adapters.
2. R em ove sc r e w at each end of piston a s
sem b ly, then lift off O -rin g adapters.
3. Note a ssem b led p osition of r e v e r s e r tee
and r e v e r s e r sto p s, then d isa sse m b le com ponents.
4. Clean a ll p a rts thoroughly, then exam ine
fo r w ear and ab rasion. R eplace p a rts if required.
G rease rubber O -rin g s and gear rack lib era lly .
5. R eferrin g to figu re 27, a sse m b le te e , and
r e v e r s e r stop s on r e v e r s e r rod a s shown. P o sitio n
r e v e r s e r rod on p iston rack, then lo c a te right and
le ft O -ring adapters to piston rack and se c u r e with
s c r e w s . Tighten s c r e w s firm ly . In stall O -rin g s on
adapters.
