. Push down on drive screw assem b ly (20)
until bearing a ssem b ly (

) is free of housing.
7. Insert screw d riv er in drive slo t of screw
(fig. 24), then rem ove bearing lock nut (13) and
bearing with snap ring (12). D rive screw a s s e m ­
bly (

) can then be lifted out of housing.

. Rem ove the two lock nuts (19) from switch
term in a ls (17). P ull off m otor w ir e s (Fig. 25).
9. R em ove th ree sc r e w s and lock w a sh ers (1)
which attach m otor cover (4) to housing. Pull out
m otor (

) with c o v er (4) attached to m otor (fig.
26), with two cover nuts (2). Remove grom m et (7).
10. R em ove two jam nuts (9) and fiber
w a sh ers (10) from outside of housing. On inside
rem ove sw itch cen ter scr ew (18). Pull out auto­
m atic sw itch (17) a s shown in figure 27.
11. Do not d isa sse m b le the shift fork actu­
ating le v e r (22), to rsio n spring (23), and spring
winding le v e r (24) u n less n ec e ssa r y to replace

one of the p a rts. If n e c e ssa r y to d isa sse m b le ,
mount a ssem b ly in v is e as shown in figure 28.
Turn spring winding le v e r (24) clock w ise and pull
to separate.

w ill be made to those illu stra tio n s during the
follow ing d isa ssem b ly operations, and a lso in the
a sse m b ly operations.
1. R em ove three sc r e w s and lock w a sh ers
(16) which attach bearing cover (15) to bottom of
shift unit housing. Rem ove cover and gasket (14).
