NOTE: Key num bers in following text r e f e r to
fig u re 10.
1. Remove nut and w a sh ers (8, 9, and 10) from
mounting bolt a t each r e a r mounting, then r a is e
r e a r of engine high enough to p e rm it rem oval of
m ounting cushion (6).
2. Rem ove bolt and sp e c ia l w a sh e r (1 and 2),
then rem ove mounting cushion assem b ly .
3. If b ra ck ets (5 and 7) re q u ire replacem ent
rem ove attaching bolts and rem ove b ra c k e ts.
4. R ev erse rem o v al p ro c e d u re s to in stall
b ra c k e ts and mounting cushions.
NOTE: When assem b lin g mounting cushions,
lu b ric a te the cushion su rfa c e s with sp ecial lu b ri
cant befo re installing.
5. Tighten b ra c k e t bolts and mounting b o lts to
to rq u e v alues given in "Engine Mounting Bolt
T orque C h art."

NOTE: If a mounting is u sed a t r e a r of tr a n s
m issio n, it w ill be n e c e ssa ry to disconnect attach
ing p a r ts to p e rm it r e a r of tra n sm issio n to be
ra is e d fo r engine r e a r mounting replacem ent. Re
f e r to applicable p o rtio n of "TRANSMISSION-ON-
VEHICLE SERVICE OPERATIONS" (SEC. 7B) in
th is m anual fo r n e c e ssa ry inform ation to disconnect
tra n sm issio n r e a r support and to asse m b le the
com ponents to provide c o rre c t load a fte r replacing
engine r e a r mounting.
1. Remove caps (2), and low er cushions (3)
fro m mounting b ra c k e ts (5).
2. With tra n sm iss io n r e a r support (if used)
disconnected, r a is e r e a r end of pow er plan t using
c a re to p reven t tipping.

only high enough to permit removal of
upper cushion; and provide safety block
ing to prevent tipping and possible damage
to front mountings.______________________
3. Remove up per cushion (3) and if n ec essary
rem ove mounting b ra c k e ts.
4. R ev erse the rem oval p ro c ed u re to in stall
mounting b ra ck ets a n d /o r cushions.
5. Tighten a ll bolts to torque values shown on
"Engine Mounting B olt Torque C hart."
If vehicle has tra n sm issio n r e a r mounting,
a sse m b le p a r ts and adjust a s in stru cted in "TRANS
MISSION ON-VEHICLE SERVICE OPERATIONS"
in TRANSMISSIONS AND CLUTCHES (SEC. 7) of
th is m anual.
