GENERATOR BRUSH REPLACEMENT
(MODEL 1117754) (F ig. 17)
1. Remove sc re w s fro m b ru sh holder cover
and rem ove co v e r.
2. Remove nut re ta in in g in d icato r light w ire
to connector and disconnect lead fro m p ost.
3. Rem ove two sc rew s which a ttac h condenser
and b ru sh holder to r e a r end fram e.
NOTE: C ondenser lead is connected inside the
g e n e ra to r. Leave condenser with g e n e ra to r.
4. Rem ove b ru sh h older, b ru sh e s, and b ru sh
sp rin g s fro m g en e rato r end fram e.
5. P o sitio n b ru sh s p rin g s and b ru sh e s in
b ru s h holder and in s e rt a p in through hole in b ru sh
ho ld er and b ru sh e s to re ta in in p osition.
6. P o sitio n b ru sh holder and b ru sh e s in end
fra m e , then s e c u re b ru sh and condenser lead s to
te rm in a ls a s shown in fig u re 17.
7. In s ta ll b ru sh holder mounting sc re w s and
tighten firm ly .
8. Rem ove pin fro m b ru sh holder and check
to be s u re a ll lead s a r e p ro p e rly connected. In stall
co v e r over b ru sh holder.
GENERATOR BRUSH REPLACEMENT

1. R em ove cov er fro m b ru sh ho lder.
2. Rem ove nuts and w a sh e rs fro m b ru sh te r m
in a ls i
3. P r e s s down and in on b ru sh sp rin g and back
assem b ly to disengage fro m b ru sh h older. L ift both
b ru sh a sse m b lie s out of cav ities in b ru sh holder.
4. P ositio n both b ru sh a sse m b lies in cav ities
in b ru sh ho lder a s shown in fig u re 18.
5. A ttach b ru sh leads to te rm in a ls and s e c u re
w ith nuts and w a sh e rs. Tighten nutq firm ly .
6. P o sition a b ru sh sp rin g and back assem bly
o v er each b ru sh , then p r e s s down on sp rin g and
back assem bly to engage lock tangs in b ru sh holder.
7. P ositio n cover o v er b ru sh holder and s e
c u re with screw .
TWO-UNIT TYPE REGULATOR
(MODEL 1119507 OR 1119515)
GENERAL
The tw o-unit type voltage re g u la to r is used on
a ll m odels equipped with the 42-, o r 61-am p gen-

REGULATOR REPLACEMENT
NOTE: On conventional cab m odels the voltage
re g u la to r is mounted on engine sid e of dash panel.
On s te e l and alum inum tilt cab m odels the re g u la
to r is mounted on the ra d ia to r fro n t support o r on
the tra n s m is s io n control islan d fro n t su p p o rt. On
"R " m odels, the re g u la to r is mounted on the r e a r
e le c tric a l equipm ent control panel.
REMOVAL
1. D isconnect th e negative cable fro m b a tte ry .
2. C arefully lift up on re g u la to r w iring h a rn e ss
connector with one hand with the o th e r, pull
h a rn e s s connector from re g u la to r.
3. Rem ove re g u la to r mounting sc re w s, then
rem ove re g u la to r assem b ly .
