CAB AND BODY MOUNTINGS 1-71
Cab door opening is con structed of a con
tinuous alum inum ex tru sio n . A form ed steel
stam ping is riv e te d to the extrusion a t the door
lock a re a . Mounted behind the stam ping is the
door lock m echanism and rem ote control a s
sem bly. The s tr ik e r bo lt is mounted on r e a r
edge of door and is surrounded by a foam ru b b er
in su lato r.
Cab d oors a r e of double-w all con stru ction
and a re mounted to cab p illa r by a continuous type
hinge. Manually o p erated door windows a r e p ro
vided with an e le c tric pow er window av ailable a s
optional equipm ent. D oor com ponents such a s
s t r ik e r bolt, window re g u la to r and windows may
be re p la ced without rem oving door from cab.
DOOR REPLACEMENT
REMOVAL (Fig. 14)
1. Remove v e rtic a l bolt from check stra p
b ra c k e t on door.
2. If rem oving rig h t door equipped with
p o w e r-a s s is t window, disconnect door w iring h a r
n e s s from beneath rig h t dash panel.
3. With aid of a s s is ta n t to support weight of
door, rem ove seven cap s c re w s which attach
hinge to cab p illa r.
INSTALLATION
With aid of a s s is ta n t, lift door to cab opening
and in sta ll seven hinge attaching cap sc rew s.
Tighten cap s c re w s to 20-25 foot-pounds torque
a fte r adjusting door in cab opening a s d esc rib ed
la te r under "DOOR ADJUSTMENTS” . Reconnect
d oor window co ntrol w iring h a rn e ss (if used).
DOOR ADJUSTMENTS
Cab en trance door can be adjusted to cab
opening by loosening cap s c re w s which attach
hinge to door and to cab p illa r.
DOOR " U P ” OR "DOWN” ADJUSTMENT
(Fig. 14)
1. F ro m r e a r of door, rem ove se a l, s tr ik e r
bolt, and s p a c e rs .
2. Rem ove v e rtic a l b o lt from check s tra p
b ra c k e t on door to allow b e tte r a c c e s s to hinge
attaching sc re w s.
3. Slightly loosen h in g e-to -d o o r cap sc re w s
then r a is e o r low er door to d e s ire d position.
Equal c le a ra n c e s should e x ist a t top and bottom
of door.
4. Tighten cap sc re w s to 20-25 foot-pounds
to rq ue and continue with following p ro c e d u re .
DOOR "IN ” OR "O U T” ADJUSTMENT (Fig. 14)
1. Slightly loosen h in g e -to -p illa r cap sc re w s .
2. P ush door in o r out from cab opening until
d e s ire d p osition is obtained. D oor o u ter panel
should be flush with cab o u ter panel at hinge
a r e a .
3. Tighten cap sc re w s to 20-25 foot-pounds
torque and in sta ll door check s tra p pin.
4. In stall and adju st s tr ik e r bolt a s d ire c te d
in next p ro c ed u re .
