NOTE: The valve bridge adjusting sc r e w lock
nut m ust not be lo o sen ed or tightened with bridge
in p la c e. Hold the bridge with v is e to avoid bending
bridge guide or valve stem .
2. If wiring term in al bracket w as rem oved,
lo ca te bracket a ssem b ly at fu el tube r is e r s and
tighten clam p bolt with end wrench. In stall feed
w ire and insulator in threaded hole in cylinder
head flange, then connect feed w ire at term in al on
bracket (fig. 37).
3. If n e c e ssa r y to in sta ll fuel tubes, the stand
ard tubes cannot be u sed with engine brake m ech
an ism . The lon ger, curved tubes (fig. 5) m ust be
used to provide sp a ce for the engine brake hous
in g s. When in stallin g fuel tubes tighten tube nuts
with torque w rench and adapter to 12 to 15 foot
pounds.
4. Lay out the engine brake housing a s s e m
b lie s and attaching p a r ts in p osition s shown in
figu re 31 for 6-71 In -lin e engine or figure 32 for
8V -71 engine.

7. P la ce hold-down b olts through the engine
brake housings, then se t the housings in p la ce over
rock er arm sh a fts. The m aster piston fork and
guide a sse m b lie s m ust fit over the in jector push
rod c le v is e s .

. Tighten the hold-down bolts altern ately in
gradual sta g es to se a t p arts solid ly at cylinder
head, then tighten b o lts (fig. 39) to 90 foot-pounds
with torque wrench.
9. O bserve o il connector s e a l ring (fig. 38)
and if n e c e ssa r y u se narrow screw d r iv er to sea t
the se a l squarely in counterbore in housing and
