Installation
NOTE: B efo re in stallin g m otor, rem ove any
old se a lin g compound from around m otor mounting
su r fa c e s, then apply bead of new compound to su r
fa c e s . In sta ll m otor in the r e v e r s e sequence of the
"Removal" p roced u re.
TRANSMISSION AND LINKAGE
REPLACEMENT
NOTE: A c c e s s to tr a n sm issio n s and linkage
can be obtained from under dash p an el at le ft sid e
and by rem oving ash tray panel at the right sid e .
The linkage connection at the m otor crank arm s is
a c c e s s ib le a fter m oving the m otor outward from
cow l, then reaching through the cowl opening.
1. R em ove the w iper arm from tra n sm issio n
shaft, then rem ove the sp e c ia l retaining nut, s te e l
w ash er and s e a l w asher from tr a n sm issio n at
front of cow l.
2. R em ove the two c r o s s - r e c e s s sc r e w s which
attach tr a n sm issio n unit to cowl b racket. Separate
the w iper m otor from cowl fo r a c c e s s to linkage
connection at m otor crank or sep a ra te connection
from re a r sid e of cow l. R em ove tra n sm issio n and
link. If d e s ir e d -th e lin k can be sep arated from
tr a n sm issio n shaft arm .
3. In the event m otor w as rem oved, make su re
new sea lin g compound is applied to m otor mounting
b a se b efore in sta llin g . A lso , u se a new s e a l w asher
o r one in good condition under the sp e c ia l retaining
nut at the tr a n sm issio n shaft, forw ard of cow l.

At le ft-w ip er m otor, front of cow l, loosen
the lock nut at adjusting s c r e w , then turn sc r e w
inward or outward to balance w iper sp eed . Both
m otors should operate at approxim ately the sam e
sp eed . Tighten lock nut after making adjustm ent.
WIPER MOTOR REPLACEMENT
R em oval
1. D iscon n ect lin es at m otor.
2. R em ove the four m otor mounting p la te -to -
cow l b olts and nuts.
3. Move m otor forw ard from cowl, then through
cow l opening, disconnect tra n sm issio n link from
m otor crank arm . The link attached to the stand
ard sin g le -ty p e m otor and the right m otor of op-
