as follow s:
CAUTION: TO P R EV EN T ACCIDENT­
AL STARTING PRIOR TO PERFORMING
THE FOLLOWING S T E P , B E SURE THE
ENGINE STOP OR SHUT-OFF CONTROL
KNOB IS IN THE "STOP" (UP) POSITION,
TRANSMISSION GEARSH IFT L E V E R IN
N EU TRAL, AND THE V EH IC LE'S W HEEL
BLO CKED .
3. Rotate flyw heel until the adjusting ring lock
(fig. 7) is exposed at inspection hole opening in the
bottom of clutch housing.

and lo ck w a sh er. U se screw d riv e r o r sim ila r
w edge to pry adjusting ring lock fr e e of the adjust­
ing ring.
CAUTION: Use care when removing
adjusting ring lock because it is spring-
loaded in the adjusting ring notches.
5. B lock the clutch pedal (in cab) down in a
fully r e le a se d p osition to rem ove spring load from
adjusting ring in sid e the clutch.
6. U se a la rg e screw d riv er to turn adjusting
ring.
NOTE: Turn adjusting ring CLOCKWISE to
rem ove r e le a s e bearing OUT or away from fly -

w h eel. Turn adjusting ring COUNTERCLOCKWISE
to m ove r e le a s e bearing a sse m b ly IN or tow ard
the flyw heel.
IMPORTANT: Rotation or m ovem ent of one
lug p osition on the adjusting ring w ill m ove the r e ­
le a s e bearing approxim ately 0.020-inch; that is ,
3 x 0.020 = 0.060 or 1 /1 6 -in c h . 5 x 0.020 = 0.100
o r 3 /3 2 -in c h .
7. R em ove block from clutch pedal to engage
clutch and cy cle the pedal a few tim e s.
8. R echeck clea ra n ce betw een r e le a s e bearing
and clutch brake as d escrib ed in Step 2 and read­
just if n e c e ssa r y .
9. When sa tisfie d that in tern al clutch adjust­
ment i s c o r r e ct, in sta ll adjusting ring lock.
