CAB AND BODY MOUNTINGS 1-91
NOTE: Each control cable is equipped with a
threaded s le e v e which can be adjusted to a ssu r e
proper cable operation.

. Connect e le c tr ic a l lea d s to air conditioning
sw itch mounted on a ir distributor and blow er m otors
7. Attach coolant lin e s to main h eater core
and sle e p e r h eater co re (when used).
8
. Connect battery ground cable.
9. Install a c c e s s panel and heater co v er as
d escrib ed p rev io u sly in th is sectio n .
BLOWER MOTORS
R em oval
NOTE: The blow er m otor a ssem b ly i s com
p o sed of two blow er m otors and blow er m otor
housing. Front blow er m otor may be rem oved by
sim p ly separating from blow er m otor housing. R e
m ove blow er m otor a sse m b ly a s follow s:
1. D iscon n ect battery ground cable.
2. R em ove p a sse n g e r sea t and platform (if so
equipped).
3. R em ove four b olts (from underside of cab)
which retain blow er m otor a ssem b ly to cab flo o r .
4. D iscon n ect e le c tr ic a l lead s from blow er
m otors.
5. R em ove rem aining b olts retaining blow er
m otor a ssem b ly to cab flo o r.
6
. Carefully rem ove blow er m otor a ssem b ly
from v eh icle.
Installation
1. P la ce b low er m otor a ssem b ly in cab so
that a ir ou tlets engage rubber connections on main
h eater housing.
2. In stall b olts retaining blow er m otor a s s e m
bly to cab flo o r . N ote that four b olts m ust be in
sta lle d from u nderside of cab.
3. Connect e le c tr ic a l lead s to blow er m otors.
4. In stall p a sse n g e r sea t and platform (if so
equipped).
5 . C o n n e c t b a t t e r y g r o u n d c a b l e .
6
. Check operation of blow er m otors.
HEATER CORE
R em oval (R efer to F ig s. 46 and 47)
1. D isconnect battery ground cab le.
2. R em ove a c c e s s panel and heater co v er as
d escrib ed p reviou sly in th is sectio n , under "Console
A c c e s s P anel and H eater C over R eplacem ent."
3. D rain and disconnect coolant lin e s from
m ain h eater housing.
4. D iscon n ect a ll control ca b les and e le c tr ic a l
lea d s which would in terfe re with rem oval of main
h eater housing. Label each with colored tape to
a s s u r e proper in stallation .
5. R em ove sc r e w s attaching main h eater hous
ing to in let a ir a ssem b ly and air distributor.

. C arefully sep a ra te a ir distributor from
main h eater housing, then slid e air distributor
(with a ir h o se s connected) toward front of v eh icle,
su fficien tly to allow rem oval of main heater housing.
7. Separate main h eater housing from in let
a ir a ssem b ly and ca refu lly rem ove m ain h eater
housing from v e h ic le .

. With main h eater housing rem oved from
v e h ic le , referrin g to figu re 47, p erform the fo l
low ing ste p s to rem ove heater core:
a. R em ove cap sc r e w s retaining low er panel
to h eater housing, then rem ove low er panel.
b. R em ove clam ps secu rin g h eater co re fit
tin g s to h eater housing.
c. R em ove sc r e w s se cu rin g heater co re to
h eater housing, then rem ove heater c o re.
In stallation (R efer to F ig s. 46 and 47)
1. P o sitio n new s e a ls on h eater c o re fittin g s,
and slid e up again st h eater c o re.
2. P la c e h eater core in h eater housing and
se c u r e with four s c r e w s . Attach clam ps to heater
c o re fittin g s.
3. P o sitio n s e a ls on lo w er panel. S ecure low er
panel to h eater housing with cap sc r e w s .
4. P o sitio n main h eater housing in v eh icle
betw een the in let a ir assem b ly and the a ir d is
trib u tor. S ecure main h eater housing to a ir in let
a sse m b ly with attaching sc r e w s .
5. Apply a light coating of s e a le r to o v erla p
ping su r fa c e s of main h eater housing and air d is
tributor. Secu re a ir distributor to main heater
housing with attaching sc r e w s .
NOTE: S ea ler is u sed betw een main heater
housing and a ir distributor to elim inate the p o s s i
b ility of air le a k s in h eater sy ste m .
