ENGINE LUBRICATION

A ll engines have an o il co o ler unit, an oil f i l ­
te r , and p r e ssu r e r e lie f v a lv es as shown. Oil pump
output p r e s s u r e is controlled by p r e ssu r e reg u la ­
tor valve in o il pump body.
Inlet to o il pump is through a fixed type inlet
s c r e e n in o il pan sum p. All crankshaft and connect­
ing rod b earin gs are p r e ssu r e lubricated. D rilled
p a ssa g e s carry o il to cam shaft and balance shaft
bearing.
Valve operating m echanism i s lubricated from
an oil g a llery in cylinder head which is supplied
with oil from cylin d er block o il g a llery . Oil is sup­
p lied to rocker arm shafts through h oles d rilled
at low er ends of rock er arm shaft bracket b olts.
