Im portant: Do not p e rm it the ru n channel
to kink.
INSTALLATION (F ig u res 22 and 24)
In stall vent window assem bly in re v e rs e
o r d e r of "R e m o v a l" p ro c e d u re s. Be su re ru b b er
tip around forw ard p o rtio n of vent window is
p ro p e rly m ated to vent window fram e. A djust
vent window pivot tension a s d irec ted prev io u sly .
P r e s s ru b b e r ru n channel back into door fram e.
DOOR WINDOW GLASS
REPLACEMENT
REMOVAL (Fig. 24)
1. Remove the vent window assem bly a s d i
re c te d previously under "D o or Vent Window A s
sem bly R eplacem ent.”
2. Regulate window to tw o -th ird s closed p o s i
tion.
3. Disengage the g la s s assem bly from the
re g u la to r a rm r o lle r by shifting g la ss assem bly
tow ards front of door. L ift window up and out of
door.
4. If d e sire d , the horizontal seal s tr ip s can
be rep laced using a flat-bladed tool to p ry s trip s
from door a s shown in fig u re 28.
5. Also if d e sire d , the door g la ss run channel
assem bly can be rem oved a t th is tim e. P ull run
channel from door. (R efer to figure 27.)
6. To rep lace the g la ss in g la s s channel, p e r
form the following:
a. Squirt solvent along g la ss fille r on both
sid e s of g la ss to soften se a l. Remove g la s s from
channel when fille r is sufficiently soft. P u ll
ru b b e r fille r from channel.
b. Thoroughly clean inside of g la ss channel,
rem oving all ru s t and foreign m a tte r.
c. Window g la ss ru b b er fille r is supplied in
two th ic k n e sse s - 0.047" and 0.057" for selec t
fit betw een g la s s and channel.
d. Cut new piece of channel fille r slightly
longer than channel. P o sitio n fille r (soapstone
side away from g lass) around g la ss.
e. B ru sh inside of channel with a light ap p li
cation of liquid soap solution to fa c ilita te in s ta ll
ation. DO NOT USE GREASE OR OIL.
f. P r e s s channel on fille r and g la s s until
firm ly seated .
IMPORTANT: Make s u re channel ends a re
equal distance from edge of g la s s (fig. 26) and th at
re g u la to r a rm tra c k in channel is facing the rig h t
d ire c tio n in re s p e c t to rounded and sq u ared c o rn
e r s a t upper edge of g la ss. T rim off ex c e ss fille r
m a te ria l along channel and a t ends.
INSTALLATION (Fig. 25)
1. If g lass run channel was rem oved from
door fram in g, in sta ll channel by p re s s in g run
channel onto place around door fra m e .
2. If the g lass h o rizon tal s e a l s trip s w ere
rem oved fro m door, p r e s s new s e a l s tr ip s into
po sition m aking su re all s trip attaching clip s a re
fully engaged.
3. Lower the d oor window asse m b ly into
door.
4. Engage g la s s channel on the r o lle r of re g
u la to r a rm . NOTE: R egulator a rm should be in
window tw o -th ird s clo sed position.
5. In stall vent windows assem b ly a s d irec ted
p rev io u sly .
6. Check op eratio n of vent window assem bly
and window re g u la to r fo r po ssib le binding.
DOOR GLASS RUN CHANNEL
REPLACEMENT
REMOVAL (Fig. 27)
1. Roll window to bottom of door.
2. At upper end of channel, next to vent win
dow fram e, p ry end of channel from door using a
sm a ll flat-b lad ed in stru m en t.
3. Continue to pull channel downward from
top of door, then upw ard to. rem ove fro m side
fra m e of door.
INSTALLATION (Fig. 27)
1. Apply thin coat of silicone type lu b rican t
to back and s id e s of ru n channel.
2. S ta rt end of ru n channel into door side
fra m e , then force it downward in m anner shown in
figu re 27. By engaging length of channel re q u ire d
to butt ag ain st vent window fram e, the am ount of
channel to be in s e rte d downward can be d e te r
m ined. Use thum bs to p r e s s channel into position.
