You can use either one of the Aux Power (-) terminals
and either one of the 12 VDC (+) terminals when
connecting devices to the control panel.

Do not tie the black (-) output to earth
ground when using any external power
supply. A ground fault condition is reported
if black (-) is grounded.
20.3 RPS
Direct
Connection
Both modules allow the user to program the control
panel, perform diagnostic functions, and retrieve
history from the control panel in RPS by using a
direct connection between the module and the
control panel.
The control panel’s Installer Switch must be
closed in order to perform a remote
programming direct connection.
Follow these steps to connect directly to the control
panel for an RPS session:
1. Make sure the address DIP switches are set to
Address 0 (zero). See Figure 38 for correct DIP
switch placement. The DX4010 does not use DIP
Switches 7 and 8.

2. Connect the module to Com Port 1 or 2 (or an
available Com Port) on your computer. The
module has a DB9 male serial connector. If this
does not fit your computer, you will need an
adapter.
3. Connect the module to the control panel:

DX4010i: Use the supplied RJ-16 to molex
cable to connect the DX4010i to the control
panel. See Figure 39.
