M-6280A Instruction Book
As long as the control is powered via the Backup
DC input, none of the three positions of this switch
have any affect on communications to a control or to
any other device in the same communications loop
with it. If backup power is not supplied to the control,
then placing the switch in "EXT" without a source
applied to the front panel meter jacks or in "OFF"
will result in the control being de-energized. While
de-energized, the control will not respond to any
communications via fiber. If a serial fiber loop is used
to connect multiple devices to one communication
port, any other device in the serial loop will not be
able to communicate either.
With the Voltage Source switch in "EXT" with no
AC input voltage applied or in "OFF", Primary and
Secondary parameters that use secondary voltage
as a component will not read correctly as there
is no AC sensing voltage applied. This includes
Load Voltage, Source Voltage, Meter Out Voltage,
Normalizing Voltage, Primary Voltage, Primary
Watts, Primary VAr's, etc.
Binding Posts
■
NOTE: The Binding Posts are rated for a
maximum power input of 140 V ac, 8 VA.
8
WARNING: Operating personnel MUST NOT
connect uninsulated test connections to the
binding post as they can create a shock hazard.
EXTERNAL POWER binding posts allow application
of a 120 V RMS nominal voltage to the unit for test
procedures.
8
WARNING: A shock hazard exists due to the
presence of voltage on the Meter Out Binding
Posts.
METER OUT binding posts allow reading of the
input voltage.
Smart Flash SD Card Slot
The Smart Flash SD Card Slot allows the user to:
•
Quick Capture
•
Load and Save Setpoints
•
Save Datalog files
•
Save Sequence of Events files
•
Save Oscillograph records
•
Clone Save and Load
•
Load and Save DNP files
•
Save Metering Data
•
Update Firmware
•
SD Card User Access Code
•
Save Wake Screen Data
The steps necessary to perform these actions are
described later in this chapter.
Fuses
▲
CAUTION: Failure to utilize proper replacement
fuses will result in damage to the control.
The Digital Capacitor Bank Control back panel
provides access to three U
L
®
recognized replaceable
fuses.
