Bead and lock rings of the wheels are mounted in the certain position with the help of lock

ring welded to the rim, and the extrusion B (see figure 75) on the lock ring entering the corresponding
hole (slot) A of the bead ring. The second slot of the bead ring is used for wheels disassembly. One of
lock ring ends has a slot to grasp the ring when it is removed from the rim lock groove.

Lock ring stop plate serves to prevent ring barring during operation, when the truck is run-

ning with low air pressure in the tires and also serves as a bracket where wheel valve 1 (see Figure
72) is fixed and additional support for air inlet hoses protection cases.

The wheel valve is mounted on 254Г-508 wheel from the outer side of stop bracket, and on

533-310 and 400Г-508 wheels - from the inner side.

Rubber seal 9 of wheel vent slot prevents tire internals from dirt and ensures chamber valve

installation in certain position.

Wheels retaining nuts and pins from right and left sides have right-hand thread.

Tire and Wheel Maintenance
Most completely wheel and tire resource utilisation and their safe operation can be en-

sured only at regular maintenance and compliance with tire operation requirements, road safe-
ty rules requirements, health and safety requirements of motor vehicles.

The following requirements must be observed:
-Strictly comply with load norms and tire air pressure norms;
-Maintain wheels and tires on time;

1-Wheel valve; 2-rim base with disc; 3-lock ring
stop plate; 4-lock ring; 5-bead ring; 6-tire; 7-
inner tube; 8-tire flap; 9-vent slot seal
