8-1. Overview of serial communications
The DC-10-4P power has a communications interface accessible from a serial port. This provides direct
control from a host computer via serial communication.
In addition, RS232C and RS485 are both available.
As shown in Fig.8-2, the on-board connector of the serial port is a D-SUB9 pin male connector, which is
mounted on the unit back face.

The DC-10-4P communication specifications are as follows.
Communications protocol:
RS-232C/RS-485
Communication rate: Selectable from 115200bps
/ 57600bps / 38400bps / 19200bps / 9600bps
Data length: 8 bit
Stop bit: 1
Parity: none
In addition, each pin of the serial port connector is described in Table 8-1 below.

For RS485, it is recommended to use a twisted pair type of positive (+) and negative (-) signal lines.
8-1-2. How to connect
RS232C communication
For DC, RXD has 2 pins and TXD has 3 pins. Connect to the HOST computer with a crossing cable.
The cable connecting between HOST and DC shall be 10 m or less at the longest in length.
