Parallel Configuration
When using the Parallel interface, set the Handshaking menu
(PARALLEL: HANDSHAKE MODE) for the desired handshaking
mode. Handshaking mode options are Automatic, Compatible,
Bidirectional, and ECP (Enhanced/Extended Capabilities Port). The
factory default is Automatic.
Use the Mode menu, PARALLEL: MODE, to select the printer
mode for files sent across the parallel interface. Options are PS
TBCP (PostScript Tagged Binary Communications Protocol, the
factory default), PS STD (PostScript Standard), and PS BIN
(PostScript Binary).
Novell Print Server Configuration
When using the Novell Print Server interface, set the printer for the
NetWare protocol frame type used on your network. You can also
specify a printer timeout on the network.
The Protocol menu allows you to select either 802.3, which is the
default packet type for NetWare versions 3.12 and up, or 802.2 (NO
SNAP), which is the default packet type for NetWare versions prior
to 3.12, as the Novell protocol frame type used on your network. The
factory default is 802.3.
The PSRV Timeout menu allows you to set a timeout for the Novell
print server emulation. If the printer cannot locate an assigned file
server during the selected time, the Novell print server emulation is
disabled. When the file servers are active on the network again,
enable the Novell print server interface using XANTÉ Command
Center or the printer’s front panel. Options are Never and 5 minute
increments to a maximum of 30 minutes (the factory default).
IP Address Configuration
When using the IP Address interface, use the keys on the front panel
to set the address as follows:
•
Reset key increases the current number flashing by one.
•
Menu key moves to the next number to the right of the current
number flashing.
