Use the following procedure when moving the printer.
Warning! The printer weighs approximately 101 lbs (46 kg)
without toner, cassettes, and media installed.
Always
have two people lift the printer using the recessed
grip areas on the bottom sides (fig. 2.2).
1. Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord from the power
source.
2. Remove all media from top of the printer; remove the fuser
unit and oil bottle. Close any open covers (top, front, or back).
See chapter 2 for instructions.
3. Remove any installed optional paper feeders or duplexer (see
chapter 10).
Never move the printer with an optional paper
feeder installed.
4. Remove the toner cartridges following the steps in chapter 2.
Ensure the cartridges stay level during the move.
Never move
the printer with cartridges installed.
5. Remove interface cables and the power cord.
6. Move the printer to a location that meets the guidelines in
“Printer Location” in chapter 2.
7. Set up the printer following the instructions in chapter 2.
Repacking the Printer
This section covers repacking the XANTÉ Colour ScreenWriter
printer for shipment. Damage resulting from incorrect packing voids
your printer warranty. To keep the warranty valid, you
must follow
the packing procedure in this document.
