a.
Store the printer, toner cartridges, OPC belt cartridge,
fuser unit, oil bottle, and media in an area with a
temperature of 41˚ to 95˚ F (5˚ to 35˚ C) and a relative
humidity of 10% to 80% with no condensation.
b.
Store the OPC belt cartridge in its original protective bag
or cover it with clean, lint-free paper to protect it from
exposure to light.
c.
Store the printer and media in their original containers or
cover them to protect from dust. See “Guidelines for
Selecting and Storing Media” in chapter 7 for more
details.
d.
Store the oil bottle separately, nozzle end up in a clean
plastic resealable bag in an area where the bottle will not
be tipped over.
e.
Use the oil syringe included with the printer’s starter kit
to remove the majority of the excess oil from inside the
fuser oil reservoir. Then use a clean, lint-free cloth or
paper towel to absorb any remaining oil from the
reservoir.
f.
Store toner cartridges with their original orange
protective covers reinstalled. Place the cartridges in their
original containers, right side up, flat on a level surface
away from salt air or aerosol gasses.
Moving the Printer
Caution:
Always remove the fuser unit and oil bottle before
moving, transporting, or storing the printer for extended
periods to prevent an oil spill. Such damage is not
covered under the printer warranty.
