Lower Feeder Unit (LFU)
This section describes installing and removing a lower feeder unit
(LFU). You can install up to two LFUs each of which handles a 500
sheet cassette.
Installing the LFU
To install the LFU
Required tool: Small level
1.
Unpack the paper cassette feeder (fig 10.1) from the shipping
carton. Remove all plastic, tape, and stabilizing material. Save
the carton and packing material to use for storing the feeder.
The package should contain the following items:
• Feeder unit
• Universal 500 sheet paper cassette
• 2 side covers
• Metal coupler 1 (fig. 10.6)

Place the LFU close to the printer in an area that meets the
guidelines in “Printer Location” in chapter 2. Then, pull the
LFU cable out the side (Fig. 10.1).
