INSPECTION
IGNITION COIL PRIMARY PEAK VOLTAGE
• Remove the seat, radiator covers and fuel tank.

• Hold the cylinder head cover bolt immovable with the wrench.
• Remove the ignition coil retainer

by removing its bolts

• Disconnect the ignition coil/plug cap lead wire coupler

before removing the ignition coil/plug cap

• Connect a new spark plug

to the ignition coil/plug cap

• Connect the ignition coil/plug cap lead wire coupler to the igni-
tion coil/plug cap, and ground it to the cylinder head.
NOTE:
Be sure that the coupler and spark plug are connected properly.
* Do not remove the ignition coil/plug cap before dis-
connection the lead wire coupler, or the lead wire will
be damaged.
* Do not pry up the ignition coil/plug cap with a screw-
driver or a bar to avoid damage.
* Be careful not to drop the ignition coil/plug cap as it
may open or short in a circuit.
Avoid grounding the spark plug and suppling the elec-
trical shock to the cylinder head cover (magnesium
parts) to prevent the magnesium material from dam-
age.
