“15” (P0115-H/L) ECT SENSOR CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION
NOTE:
After repairing the trouble, clear the DTC using SDS tool. (

INSPECTION
Step 1 (When indicating 15:)
1) Stop the engine.
2) Check the ECT sensor coupler
1
for loose or poor contacts.
If OK, then measure the ECT sensor voltage at the wire side
coupler.
3) Disconnect the ECT sensor coupler

.
4) Connect a 12 volts battery by using the battery lead wire to
the service coupler. (

Output voltage is not within the following
range.
0.2 V
Sensor voltage < 4.9
V
• ECT sensor circuit open or short.
• ECT sensor malfunction.
• ECM malfunction.

Sensor voltage is higher than specified
value.
• ECT sensor circuit open or ground circuit open.
• ECT sensor circuit shorted to ground.

Sensor voltage is lower than specified
value.

When using the multi circuit tester, do not strongly touch the terminal of the ECM coupler with
a needle-pointed tester probe to prevent the terminal damage or terminal bend.
